1. Who We Are
ZDNetworking ("we", "us", "our") operates the digital business card platform at zdnetworking.com. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and your rights over it. Contact us at [email protected] with any questions.
2. What We Collect
Account data — your email address and a securely hashed password (PBKDF2-SHA256, 300,000 iterations). We never store your password in plain text.
Card data — the business card content you create: name, company, title, phone, email, website, social links, logo image, and design theme.
Card view analytics — when someone opens your card, we log: a timestamp, the approximate country and city derived from the viewer's IP address (via ipinfo.io — see Section 5), and the HTTP referrer (e.g. "scanned from QR code"). We do not store the raw IP address persistently, and we do not identify individual viewers.
Payment data — handled entirely by Stripe. We store only your Stripe customer ID and subscription ID. We never see or store your payment card number, expiry, or CVV.
Team / organization data — if you create or join a team account, we store your organization membership, your role (admin or member), and the date you joined. Team admins can see the email addresses and card view counts of all members in their organization.
Email communications — we store your email address to send transactional emails (password resets, team invitations). We do not send marketing emails without your consent.
Technical data — IP addresses are used transiently for rate limiting and abuse prevention. They are not stored persistently beyond what is described under card view analytics above.
3. How We Use Your Data
To operate your account, serve your digital business cards to recipients, and show you view analytics.
To process subscription payments via Stripe and manage team seat billing.
To send transactional emails: password resets, team invitations, and account notifications.
To prevent abuse: rate limiting failed logins, blocking malicious requests.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes, ever.
4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
Contract performance — processing your account data and card data is necessary to provide the service you signed up for.
Legitimate interest — card view analytics and abuse prevention serve our legitimate interest in operating a reliable, secure service.
Consent — transactional emails are sent based on your account creation and explicit actions (e.g., requesting a password reset or sending a team invite).
5. Third-Party Services
Stripe — payment processing and subscription management. Your payment data is subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
Resend — transactional email delivery (password resets, team invites). Emails are processed by Resend subject to Resend's Privacy Policy. We send only necessary transactional emails; no marketing.
ipinfo.io — used to resolve the approximate geographic location (country and city) of card viewers for analytics. The IP address is sent to ipinfo.io per request and is not retained by us beyond the resolved country/city. Subject to ipinfo.io's privacy policy.
Railway — cloud infrastructure provider that hosts our servers and database. Data is stored on Railway's infrastructure subject to their data processing terms.
Google Fonts — font delivery via Google's CDN. Google may log font requests per their privacy policy.
HubSpot — if you connect the HubSpot CRM integration, lead contact data (name, email, company) is forwarded to HubSpot on your behalf. Subject to HubSpot's privacy policy.
Zapier / Make — if you configure a webhook integration, lead data is forwarded to your chosen automation platform. Subject to the respective platform's privacy policy.
Anthropic — if you use AI-powered features (smart suggestions, card generation), relevant context (company name, industry, lead notes) is processed by Anthropic's API. Subject to Anthropic's privacy policy.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account and card data for as long as your account is active. Card view analytics are retained for up to 12 months then automatically purged. When you delete your account from Account Settings, all associated data — account record, cards, view analytics, sessions, and team memberships — is permanently and immediately deleted from our database. We cannot recover deleted accounts.
7. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights:
Access — your card data and account information is visible in your dashboard at all times.
Correction — edit any card or contact us to correct your account email.
Deletion — delete your account instantly from Account Settings. All data is erased immediately and permanently.
Portability — contact us at [email protected] to request a machine-readable export of your data.
Objection (GDPR) — you may object to processing based on legitimate interest by contacting us.
Opt-out of sale (CCPA) — we do not sell personal information. There is nothing to opt out of.
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Security
We implement industry-standard protections: PBKDF2-SHA256 password hashing (300,000 iterations), HTTPS-only access, Content Security Policy headers, 48-byte cryptographically random session tokens, account lockout after 5 failed login attempts, and parameterized SQL queries throughout to prevent injection attacks. No security measure is perfect; use a strong unique password and enable two-factor authentication on your email account.
9. Cookies and Local Storage
ZDNetworking does not use cookies. Authentication tokens are stored in your browser's localStorage. We do not use tracking, advertising, or analytics cookies of any kind. We do not use third-party pixel trackers.
10. Team Accounts and Administrator Access
If you are a member of an ZDNetworking Team account, your organization's administrator can view your email address, the number of views your cards have received, and the cards you have created under the team. Admins cannot view your password, payment details, or personal account settings. When an admin removes you from a team, your individual account remains active unless you choose to delete it.
11. Children
ZDNetworking is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU/UK). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a child, contact us immediately at [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.
12. International Transfers
ZDNetworking is operated from the United States. If you access the service from outside the US, your data is transferred to and processed in the US. By using ZDNetworking you consent to this transfer. We rely on standard contractual clauses with our service providers for EU/UK data transfers where required.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we may also send a notice to your registered email address. Continued use of ZDNetworking after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
Short version: Use ZDNetworking lawfully, pay for what you use, and don't abuse the platform. These terms include a binding arbitration clause and limitation of liability. Read Section 11 and 12 carefully.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using ZDNetworking ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service. If you are accepting on behalf of a company or other legal entity, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
2. The Service
ZDNetworking provides a platform for creating, managing, and sharing digital business cards via unique URLs, QR codes, and vCard downloads. Features include individual cards, team/organization accounts, card view analytics, and subscription billing. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. Where feasible, we will provide reasonable advance notice of significant changes.
3. Eligibility and Accounts
You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account. If you are under 18, you must have parental or guardian consent.
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account and for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
You must provide accurate, complete, and current information when registering. Impersonation of any person, business, or brand is strictly prohibited.
One account per person. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent plan limits or other restrictions is not permitted and may result in immediate termination of all accounts.
You must notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
Impersonate any person, company, or brand, or misrepresent your affiliation with any entity.
Publish false, misleading, fraudulent, or defamatory contact information.
Distribute spam, malware, viruses, phishing content, or any harmful code via card links or shared URLs.
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, its infrastructure, or other users' accounts.
Scrape, crawl, reverse-engineer, decompile, or copy any part of the Service without express written permission.
Use automated tools to create accounts or cards at scale without authorization.
Violate any applicable local, state, federal, or international law or regulation, including privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, CAN-SPAM).
Harass, threaten, or harm any individual through content published on the platform.
We reserve the right to remove any content and suspend or terminate any account that violates these provisions, with or without notice.
5. Subscriptions and Billing
ZDNetworking offers a free tier and paid subscription plans billed on a monthly recurring basis.
Free: $0/mo, 1 card, lead capture, QR + link sharing. No credit card required.
Starter: $14.99/mo, 3 cards, all premium themes, booking link, vCard.
Team and organization features are included with the Business and Enterprise plans at the flat monthly price shown above. The account holder is responsible for payment and manages seat allocation from the dashboard.
Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your payment card number, CVV, or expiry date.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled.
You may cancel your subscription at any time from Account Settings. You retain access to paid features through the end of the current billing period. No partial-period refunds are provided unless required by applicable law.
We reserve the right to modify pricing with at least 30 days' prior notice. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.
If a payment fails, we may suspend access to paid features until payment is resolved.
6. Team Accounts
Team administrators are responsible for managing seat assignments, invitations, and member access within their organization.
Administrators may view the email addresses and card view statistics of all members in their organization. See our Privacy Policy for details.
When an administrator removes a member, that member's team access and team-associated cards are deactivated. The member's individual account remains intact.
The administrator is solely responsible for ensuring that all team members comply with these Terms.
Adding seats beyond the subscribed quantity requires upgrading the subscription before new invitations can be sent.
7. Card View Analytics
The Service records analytics when your digital business card is viewed: approximate geographic location (country and city derived from the viewer's IP address), a timestamp, and the referral source. This data is attributed to your card and visible to you (and to your organization's administrator if you are a team member). It is not shared with third parties for advertising purposes. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
8. Content and Intellectual Property
You retain all ownership rights in the content you submit to ZDNetworking (business card text, logos, images).
By submitting content, you grant ZDNetworking a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, display, and transmit that content solely as necessary to operate the Service (e.g., serving your card to people who view your shared link).
This license terminates when you delete the content or close your account.
You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to all content you submit, and that your content does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights.
All software, design, trademarks, and technology underlying the Service remain the exclusive property of ZDNetworking and its licensors. These Terms do not transfer any ownership of Service technology to you.
9. DMCA / Copyright Complaints
If you believe content on ZDNetworking infringes your copyright, please send a notice to [email protected] including: (1) identification of the copyrighted work; (2) identification of the infringing material and its location on the Service; (3) your contact information; (4) a statement of good faith belief that the use is not authorized; and (5) a statement under penalty of perjury that you are the rights holder or authorized to act on their behalf.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or for any other reason with or without notice at our sole discretion.
Upon termination by us for cause, you are not entitled to a refund of any prepaid subscription fees.
You may delete your account at any time from Account Settings. Deletion permanently and immediately removes all your data from our systems. We cannot recover deleted accounts.
Sections 8 (Intellectual Property), 11 (Disclaimer of Warranties), 12 (Limitation of Liability), 13 (Indemnification), and 14 (Governing Law) survive termination.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES. YOU USE THE SERVICE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
12. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ZDNETWORKING AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES (INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES) ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO ZDNETWORKING IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM OR (B) $100 USD. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN WARRANTIES OR LIMITATION OF LIABILITY, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
13. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless ZDNetworking and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your content; or (d) your violation of any third party's rights.
14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service that cannot be resolved informally shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, except that either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction for matters involving intellectual property or unauthorized access. You waive any right to a jury trial and any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration. Notwithstanding the foregoing, if you are located in a jurisdiction that prohibits mandatory arbitration of consumer disputes, the foregoing arbitration clause shall not apply to you.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, by email to your registered address. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using the Service.
16. Miscellaneous
Entire Agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and ZDNetworking regarding the Service.
Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
Waiver. Failure to enforce any right under these Terms is not a waiver of that right.
Assignment. You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign ours freely.

Data Processing Agreement

This Data Processing Agreement ("DPA") forms part of the ZDNetworking Terms of Service between ZDNetworking ("Processor") and the customer ("Controller").
1. Subject Matter
The Processor processes personal data (business contact information, lead data) on behalf of the Controller for the purpose of providing the ZDNetworking digital business card and lead management service.
2. Duration
This DPA remains in force for the duration of the Controller's active subscription and terminates automatically upon account deletion.
3. Nature and Purpose of Processing
The Processor stores and processes: (a) the Controller's business profile data; (b) contact information of leads captured via the Controller's digital business cards; (c) event and connection records created by the Controller.
4. Obligations of the Processor
Process personal data only on documented instructions from the Controller.
Ensure persons authorized to process personal data are bound by confidentiality.
Implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures (encryption at rest and in transit, access controls, rate limiting).
Assist the Controller in responding to data subject rights requests (erasure, export, restriction).
Delete or return all personal data upon termination of services.
Make available all information necessary to demonstrate compliance and allow audits.
5. Sub-processors
The Processor uses the following sub-processors: Railway (hosting), Stripe (payments), Resend (email delivery), ipinfo.io (geo-analytics). A current list is maintained at zdnetworking.com/privacy.
6. International Transfers
Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA, the Processor relies on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) adopted by the European Commission.
